Frances Holscher
Frances Velma Monnin Holscher, age 100, of Osgood passed away at 1:30 AM at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born in North Star, Ohio on March 4, 1918 to the late Charles & Mary K (Chappie) George. She married Thomas W. Monnin on April 20, 1940 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1950. She then married Leo L. Holscher on November 10, 1962 and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1982.
She is survived by children Diana & Rolly Hausfeld, Minster, Lester & Norma Monnin, Versailles, Linda & Paul Stelzer, Granville, Lisa Holscher & Mark Tibbs, Dayton, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rita Holscher, Minster.
She was preceded in death by son Lawrence Joseph (Larry Joe) Monnin, grandchildren LJ Monnin and Darrin Phillips, 2 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters Luella George, Eleanor Werling, Leona (Toots) McEldowney, Ruth Petitjean Theiebeau, Earl (Jim), Kenneth, John, Marion (Bud), Lee Edward, Lester (Fat), Rosemary Kinninger, Bertha Bruening and Virginia Roll, Monnin-in-laws: Mercedes Magoteaux, Earl, Fred, Paul, Lucille Bruns-Alexander, Hilliary Monnin, Mary Monnin and Sylvia Bernard-Schulte, Holscher in-laws: Matilda Pleiman, Edward, Urban, Joe, Alfred, Robert, Ray, Wilfrid (Willie) Rosemary Homan, infants Julius, Elizabeth and Albert.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood and St. Barbara Ladies Sodality. She was a former Treasurer of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 588 and was employed at Werling and Sons, Burkettsville and L.H. Schmidt Egg Processing, Osgood.
Our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother will be dearly missed by her loving family. She will be remembered for the many outings in the "Auntie Mobile" and always having cookies and pies ready to serve her loving family and extended family. She took great pride in beautiful roses and maintaining her flower garden especially around the Blessed Virgin Mary. When prayers were needed we always went to her as we knew she had a direct line to God.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood with Rev. David Zink, Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Martin Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Monday, July 30 from 3 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
