Cletus Lange
Cletus A. Lange, age 84, of St. Henry, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born May 18, 1934 in St. Henry, Ohio, to the late Louis & Anna (Selhorst) Lange. On May 6, 1961 he married Edna (Grieshop) Lange and she survives in St. Henry.
Clete is also survived by his children: Michelle & Dale Kaiser of Ft. Recovery, Diane Lange of St. Henry, Ronald & Wanda Lange of Osgood, Sheila & Larry Phillips of Beavercreek, Renee & Michael Bertke of Maria Stein, Janine & Charles Jacobs of Maria Stein, Tricia & Charles Wendel of St. Henry. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and siblings: Leroy Lange of St. Henry, Frances Gehret of Ft. Loramie, Louis & Martha Lange of Wapakoneta, Sally Lange of Celina, and in laws: Margie Wenning of Yorkshire, Cletus & Mary Ann Grieshop of Minster, Angela Grieshop of Sidney, Nicholas & Joan Grieshop of Yorkshire, Vernon & Patricia Grieshop of Yorkshire, and Thomas & Janice Grieshop of New Bremen.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Marie & Albert Pottkotter, Elmer Lange, Cleo & Ralph Strete, Wilma & Sylvester Dues, Sister Agnes Lange C.P.P.S., Cy & Margie Lange, Rita & Joseph Schroer, Eugene Lange and in-laws Ilene Lange, Lawrence Gehret, Jeanette & David Quellhorst, Joseph Grieshop, Kenneth Grieshop, Marilyn Grieshop, and Leo Wenning.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, where he was a member of the funeral choir and had been a Mass server for weekly Masses at The Gardens.
Clete was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the former New Idea factory in Coldwater after working there for 44 years. He was a former member of the St. Henry Emergency Rescue Squad, as well as a member of the C.P.P.S. Companions, and the St. Henry Knights of Columbus.
Clete enjoyed gardening, music, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved talking with people and he never knew a stranger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 17, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
