Louise Dicke
Louise Dicke, 98, of New Bremen, died at 11:45 P.M. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Otterbein Senior Lifestyles of St. Marys, Ohio.
She was born on April 26, 1920 in New Bremen, the daughter of the late Albert A. and Elsie (Berend) Huenke. On August 12, 1937 she married Franklin F. Dicke, who died on June 20, 1971.
Surviving are her children Jack (Becky) Dicke of Worthington, Ohio, Dan (Sally) Dicke of New Bremen, and Lois Herman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a sister Marguerite Rackle of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Louise was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, and was a life-long member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen where she taught Sunday School and was an original member of the Busy 12. She helped her husband Frank for several years doing clerical work for the New Bremen Speedway, and in later years was a secretary at Minster Machine.
She and Frank loved to Ballroom and Swing dance, and they belonged to the farm council. They enjoyed spending time with their family and friends, and Louise was known as a great cook. In her later years, Louise was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and playing Bridge with her friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen with Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
There will be an hour of calling prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
