Marguerite Griesdorn
Marguerite E. Griesdorn, age 91, of St. Rose, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
Marguerite was born July 14, 1927 in Coldwater, to the late Arthur & Regina (Hemmelgarn) Bettinger. She married Cletus Griesdorn on April 14, 1951 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio, and he died July 20, 2006.
Marguerite is survived by three children and their spouses, Jeffrey (China) & Rita Griesdorn of St. Rose, Craig & Diane Griesdorn of New Bremen, and Treva & Ron (Herb) Fortkamp of St. Rose. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Gwen & Shane Gaerke, Derek Griesdorn, Brett & Carrie Griesdorn, Julie & Marcus Overman, Michelle Griesdorn & Kevin Tames, Gina & Nathan Kemper, and Tegan Fortkamp & Jason Will, nine great grandchildren, siblings, Carl and Ruth Bettinger, Grace Rutschilling, all of Coldwater, and in-laws, Marlene Bettinger and Barb Bettinger both of Coldwater, Mark Griesdorn of Cassella, and Luke (Butch) Griesdorn of Osgood.
Marguerite was preceded in death by siblings: Bob Bettinger, Paul & Angie Bettinger, Herman & Rita Bettinger, William Bettinger, Lavern Bettinger, Clarina & Serph Lefeld, Lucille & Bob Bergman, Cletus & Norma Bettinger, and Mary Ellen Bettinger, and in-laws:, Paul Rutschilling, Katherine Griesdorn, Thelma Gross-Barber, William Gross, Harry Barber, Ralph & Mildred Griesdorn, and Margie Griesdorn.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, and the Ladies Sodality. Marguerite was a charter member of the St. Rose Sheep Head Card Club, a homemaker, and cleaned St. Rose Church for over 40 years. She was an avid sports fan, especially following the Marion Local Flyers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home-St. Henry.
