Mary Carlin
Mary L. Carlin, age 99, of Celina, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 21, 2019 at her home in Celina.
She was born August 15, 1919 in Dayton, to the late Carl and Elizabeth (Schubert) Kinninger. On June 5, 1943 she married the love of her life, Oscar C. Carlin and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2003.
Mary was preceded in death by a granddaughter Cheryl Carlin on November 10, 2017; and a sister and brother-in-law, Georgiana (Darrell) Strawser.
Survivors include five daughters, Cathy (Charles) Adams, Midlothian, Virginia, Betty (Dale) Voisard, Tipp City, Ohio, Mary Jo (Kenny) Shockley, Winchester, Indiana, Constance (Shawn) Picard, New Carlisle, Ohio, Terri (Earl) Gantt, League City, Texas; two sons, John (Shirley) Carlin, Troy, Ohio, and Richard (Brenda) Carlin, Celina, Ohio; 26 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
Mary was a 1937 graduate of Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio, she went on to attend Miami-Jacobs Business School in Dayton, Ohio.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and homemaker who loved making pies, which made everything better. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards, her bunco group, and taking an occasional boat ride on Grand Lake.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and attended Mass daily, Christian Mothers Altar Rosary Sodality, and Celina Mercer YMCA.
Visitation hours will be from 2-5 pm, Sunday, January 27, 2019 in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Mass of Christian burial and the celebration of her life will begin at 10:30 am on Monday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, with Fr. Alfons Minja, C.PP.S, and Fr. James Dugal, C.PP.S. officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 9:00 am-10:00 am at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Mission at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or State of the Heart Hospice in Coldwater, Ohio.
