Robert C. "Bob" Meiring, 73, of New Bremen, died at 9:15 A.M. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

He was born on March 10, 1945 in Celina, the son of the late Frank and Dorothea (Kueterman) Meiring. In July of 1965 he married Vivian Borgerding, who died in September of 1967.

He then married Betty Muhlenkamp on August 22, 1970, and she survives in New Bremen, along with his children; Dan Meiring of Minster, Bryon Meiring of New Bremen, Kevin (Betsy) Meiring of Ft. Loramie, and Steve (Jennifer) Meiring of Cincinnati, his seven grandchildren; Justin (Lisa) Meiring, Ashley (Kyle) Brandewie, Tyler Meiring, Connor Meiring, Marissa Meiring, Spencer Meiring, and Morgan Meiring, his three great-grandchildren; Jett Meiring, Boyd Brandewie, and Kiera Meiring. Also surviving are his siblings; Doris Enneking of New Bremen, Rose (Bob) Houser of Russia, Bill Meiring of New Bremen, Edna McCall of Tennessee, Ann (Jerry) Hirschfield of New Bremen, and Dot (Don) Krieg of Wapakoneta, his in-laws John (Evelyn) Muhlenkamp of Fort Recovery, Diane (James) Schwartz, of Cincinnati, Ted (Judy) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Lou (Luke) Brackman of Coldwater, Nick (Joanie) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Mariann Pubentz of Cincinnati, and Joe (Julie) Muhlenkamp of Fort Recovery.

Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings Frank Meiring and Minnie (Myron) Stachler, and his in-laws Ralph Enneking, Larry McCall, and Ken Pubentz.

Bob had attended New Bremen High School, and later attended trade school. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. He was a member of the former Lions Club in New Bremen, and the Minster F.O.E. 1931.

He was a Diesel Mechanic at the former Tranco of New Bremen, and later owned and operated Celina Diesel for 37 years before retiring in 2014. Bob enjoyed being a mechanic, and he was generous with his time - helping others with their special projects which benefited their own businesses. He always considered their success to be his success.

In his spare time, liked to be outdoors. He especially loved being at his cabin in southern Ohio, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with Rev. Fr. Thomas Dorn and Rev. Mr. Greg Bornhorst officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Minster.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday at the Church.
