Mary Liette
Mary K. Liette, age 91, of Burkettsville passed away Saturday May 25, 2019 at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, IN.
She was born on October 15, 1927 in Burkettsville, OH to the late Henry & Agnes (Reier) Siefring. On April 12, 1950 she married Hubert "Pete" Liette, and he passed away on February 11, 2007.
Mary is survived by children and in-laws; Dean & Vivian Liette of New Weston, Deb & Dave Homan of Fort Recovery, Vickie & Kipp Burgermeister of Portland, IN, and Joyce Liette of Versailles, as well as 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by siblings and in-laws; Mildred Mendenhall, Eulalia Zumberger, Jeannette & Paul Lennartz, Virginia & Robert Schaefer, Irene Siefring and Catherine Dues.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Mike Liette, a granddaughter, Rachel Brackman, and a great grandson Liam Liette, her siblings and in-laws, Alfreda & Ralph Rose, Aloys & Hilda Siefring, Cyril & Romilda Siefring, Herbert Siefring, Florentine Siefring, Esther & Victor Wuebker, Lucille & Leon Kramer, Elmer (Rita) Siefring, Ronald Mendenhall, John Zumberger, Walter Evers, Norbert & Sally Liette, Frank Liette, Clarence & Clarene Liette, Wilfred & Ruth Liette, Loretta & Bob Stammen, Marjorie & Joe Schmidt, Emerita & Andrew Greer, Dorothy Liette, Rosa & Leon Heyne, and Cy Dues.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family, playing cards, traveling, and ballroom dancing. She was a very faithful woman and always had her rosary. She will be remembered and missed by her family and friends, and especially be remembered for her love of family and her famous pies.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 30, 2019 at St. Bernard Church, with Fr. Bill O'Donnell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
