The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ronald Savage
Ronald M. Savage, Jr., 70, of St. Marys, OH died 1:02 p.m. Saturday June 8, 2019 at his residence.
He was born October 26, 1948 in Celina, OH to Ronald and Wilma (Miller) Savage, Sr. and they preceded him in death.
He was the father to six children: Christopher Savage, Heather Savage, Lindsey (Adam Dellinger) Savage, Joseph (Shylar Cox) Savage, Allen (Sondra) Huff and Amy (Tony) Perry. He was also a grandfather to twenty and a great-grandfather to four.
He was married for thirty years to his loving wife, Anita (Dunlap) Savage, who fought a courageous three year battle with cancer, prior to her death on September 11, 2018.
Ron is also survived by a brother Jim (Maria) Sullivan, a sister Ruth Ann (Lewis) Sell, a brother Duane Savage, a brother-in-law James (Sandy) Dunlap and a sister-in-law Valerie (Dan) Salisbury.
As a young man, he served in the Ohio National Guard, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-7). He retired from the Setex Corp. in St. Marys.
Ron and Anita were both avid fans of The Ohio State University Buckeyes football and basketball teams, as well as St. Marys Roughriders Football. They also liked camping and especially enjoyed their Saturday night dates in the basement of their home.
Ron Cherished the visits from all his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
He was a member of FOE Aerie #767 in St. Marys.
It was his final wish that when you remember him, it will not be with tears in your eyes, but with smiles on your face as you think about the good times you shared.
Rites are scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Friday June 14, 2019 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 7093 West Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Craig Cisco will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. All friends and family are encouraged to dress casually and wear OSU clothing to the services!
