NEW BREMEN - Village council members on Monday approved a location for a new electrical substation after hearing residents' concerns during five previous public meetings.
Members voted 5-1 to construct the substation west of the initial site, which had been deemed the best location by consultant GPD Group. [More]

COLUMBUS - Ohio's governor is asking the U.S. Department of Agriculture to declare Ohio a disaster area due to the heavy rainfall that has prevented farmers from planting their crops.
Gov. Mike DeWine on Friday sent a letter to USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue requesting a disaster designation for Ohio amid this year's heavy rainfall. [More]

Employee who would have led Celina program in house resigned post
CELINA - School board members on Monday revised the district's contract with Mercer County Educational Service Center to have the ESC continue providing preschool services for the coming school year.
MINSTER - The final price for additional options for the middle/high school renovation project is $156,000, which will drop the project's contingency fund to $37,000.
FORT RECOVERY - School board members at Monday's meeting approved a 10-cent increase in school lunch prices.

FORT RECOVERY - Village administrator Randy Diller told council members at their Monday meeting that park board members have decided to allow non-profit organizations, school, church and other similar groups to reserve the soon-to-be opened Cooper Brothers Community Pavilion for no charge.
