Leonard Bruns
Leonard A. Bruns, age 79, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Reid Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on December 21, 1939 in Philothea, Ohio to the late August and Agnes (Buening) Bruns. Both of his parents died at an early age and Leonard was raised by his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Dorothy Buening.
Leonard graduated from Minster High School in 1959. He was a backhoe operator and was retired from Cy Schwieterman, Inc.
Leonard loved his Lord Jesus, his church and his family. He spent many hours serving his Lord through his local church; First Assembly of God. Leonard was also a member of the Army National Guard and the Yorkshire Goat Farmers. He took great pleasure in his two hobbies: cutting wood with his chainsaw and mowing grass.
He is survived by two children; Craig (Melissa, significant other) Bruns and Melissa (Kent) Wentworth, both of Greenville: four stepchildren; Kevin (Angela) Beumer of Greenville, Steve Beumer of Holland, MI, Rosaland Edwards (Lima, Ohio), and Cheyenna Webb (Lima, Ohio): three siblings; Dorothy (Jim-deceased) Lehmkuhle, George (Rosie) Bruns, and Helen (George) Barhorst: a sister-in-law; Janice Bruns (wife of Alvin): two grandchildren; Tiffany (Cody) Kester and Bonita Wentworth and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven of his siblings: Walter (Dorothy) Bruns, Wilbert (Thelma) Bruns, Ralph (Alice) Bruns, Mary Agnes (Carl) Ranley, Delores (Jack) Gaier, Alvin Bruns, and August Bruns, Jr. who died at birth.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Assembly of God, 7219 St. Rt. 118, Greenville, Ohio 45331 on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 10:30 am, with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating.
The family will receive friends beginning at 9 am for fellowship and visitation. Inurnment will be at Saint Elizabeth Cemetery, 4812 Ohio 219, Coldwater, Ohio on Sunday, August 11 at 2:00 pm. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Saturday, August 10 from 9 to 11 am.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the church. Donation envelopes will be available at the church.
