Josephine Zeik
Josephine L. Zeik, 86, of Rockford passed away at 2:15 AM on May 17, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
She was born on September 11, 1933, in Adams County, Indiana, to the late Cloyd and Orfa (Coon) Nelson. On May 25, 1985, she married the love of her life, Frederick D. Zeik, who passed away on January 14, 2020. Together they shared over 34 years of memories. She has been a Rockford resident for over 30 years, coming from Berne, IN.
A graduate of Geneva High School, Josephine went on to retire as an executive secretary from Micro Precision. Prior to that she worked in the office of Bixler Insurance. She was a longtime member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Rockford, OH.
In her younger years, Josephine could often be found on the links playing golf. While she never had children of her own, she loved and adored her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her brothers: Wayne and Harold Nelson; and sisters: Ruby Augsburger, Ruth Miller and Mary Catherine Nelson.
Because of national health concerns, Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, and Josephine's family are following directives outlined by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
