Shirley Cooperrider
Shirley Kuhn Cooperrider passed away Wednesday, June 17, in Fairfax, California.
She was born April 15, 1936, in Celina, Ohio, to Lee and Gladys Kuhn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Kuhn (Ruth).
Shirley was baptized and grew up in Celina as a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, then graduated from Celina High School. She went on to study at the University of Cincinnati, studying in the Arts area and graduating with honors in Graphic Design.
She moved to Ventura, California, later to Los Angeles, continuing studies related to her work there. Upon retirement, she moved to Fairfax, California. There she enjoyed collecting books related to her many interests including Native American tribes. A favorite way to relax was to go to the Western Deserts to hike and explore.
She leaves behind her brother Dave Kuhn (Nancy), sister-in-law Ruth Kuhn, nephew Ron Kuhn (Jen) and niece, Debra Mihm (Mike), all in Celina; nephews Damon (Cindy), Needville, Texas; Lance (Kim), Fishers, Indiana; Marc (Shelley) also in Celina; and niece Tracy Kuhn Miehls (Christopher), Fort Wayne, Indiana; as well as several great-nieces and -nephews.
The family will plan a memorial gathering at a later date.
