Damage left in wake of wind bursts
CELINA - Strong winds buffeted the beloved bass "Big Bob" onto his side on Thursday as storms popped up throughout the county.
Big Bob was stationed at the Celina Eagles Aerie 1291 parking lot on Thursday evening when a sudden storm swept him onto his side.
CELINA - A 10th Mercer County person has died from COVID-19, according to a news release on Friday.
Three new cases of the virus also were reported, raising the county's total to 294. No new cases were reported in Auglaize County. [More]
MONTEZUMA - Mercer County Sheriff's Office personnel are investigating the death of a 2-year-old who was found unresponsive in Montezuma in February.
Chief deputy Gery Thobe confirmed the office is investigating the death of Ezra Siegrist.
CELINA - Celina planning commissioners on Thursday denied a representative's request to partially replat nine lots in Eaglebrooke Estates Section 2 in northeastern Celina after hearing opposition from about a dozen nearby homeowners.
CELINA - Two teenage boys have gone missing from a Celina-area foster home, and the Mercer County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding them.
MINSTER - The results have been good for Minster this summer when Eric Schmidt is on the hill.
That trend continued on Friday night. 
Schmidt pitched five innings of one-hit baseball and Minster held off a late Celina charge for a 6-4 victory. [More]
