Dora Cordier
Dora Cordier, age 94, of Zanesville, Ohio and formerly of Celina, Ohio and Ocala, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her residence.
She was born on November 1, 1926 in Upton, Wyoming to the late Garthel and Iva (Lawrence) Sherwood. On March 24, 1968 she married Forest Cordier, who died October 6, 1982.
Survivors include her children; John (Susan) Winhoven of Silver Springs, Florida, and caregivers, Gerald "Pat" (Patti) Winhoven of Zanesville, step son Franklin Cordier of Lucasville, one grandchild; Shawn, four step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight siblings, and one step grandchild.
Dora graduated from Upton High School with the Class of 1944. She retired as a Telephone Operator for GTE after seventeen years of service.
She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, taking care of her pets and neighbor's pets and spending time with many friends in her neighborhood in Ocala, Florida. She was also an avid blood donor, receiving many awards. She was a former member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina and member of Ocala United Methodist Church
Private family graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. John Exman officiating.
