Doris Behm
Doris Elaine Behm, age 94, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at her home in Celina.
She was born March 23, 1926, in Celina, to Frank & Ida (Emans) Muter. Doris and Charles Thomas Behm were married on November 27, 1944, and he preceded her in death July 6, 2004.
Surviving is their son, Charles E. "Chuck" Behm of Celina, six grandchildren: Bryan (Deb) Deitsch of Tennessee, Brent (Jeanne) Deitsch of Alabama, and Tammy Gardner, Susie (Melvin) Moeller, Missy (Jim) Andrew and Scott (Lindsey) Behm, all of Celina, grandson-in-law, Sam Hemmelgarn, of Dayton, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Lynn Deitsch, granddaughter, Michelle "Shelly" Hemmelgarn, daughter-in-law, Vicki Behm, and four brothers: Franklin Junior Muter, Dwight Eugene Muter, Verl W. Muter and Lynn V. Soule.
Starting at a young age, Doris held a variety of jobs. Her first was at the J.J. Newberry 5 & 10ยข Store in Lima. She later worked at New Idea in Coldwater and Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina, then became the manager of Laco Laundry in Celina, retiring in 1985 after 13 years of service.
She was a member of Celina Church of the Nazarene. Doris liked going garage sale-ing, gardening, canning and cooking. She had enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband, Charlie.
Doris loved her family. She spent much time quilting and sewing, creating a quilt for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private Funeral Services for the family only, are at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 13, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Chris Riffle officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours, which will also be private, are from 10:00 -10:30 AM on Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.
Those attending are required to wear masks, practice social distancing as much as possible, and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Celina Church of the Nazarene or State of the Heart Care.
