Donald Niemeyer
Donald Niemeyer, 95, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died 4:05 A.M. Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford, Ohio.
He was born June 25, 1925, in New Knoxville, the son of John Edward and Lydia Sarah (Elshoff) Niemeyer. He married Ruth Anne Zwiebel on July 13, 1947; she preceded him in death on December 3, 2016.
He is survived by his children: Anita (Jack) Winters of Atlanta, GA.; Gail (Wilbur) Lewis of Grand Prairie, Texas; Reid (Sue) Niemeyer of New Knoxville; Lorie (David) Simms of Garland, Texas; Dawn (Jack) Tremble of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Brad (Melanie) Niemeyer of Celina; Joy (Paul) Janosko of Lexington, Ohio; Drew Niemeyer of New Knoxville. He is survived by his 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his siblings: Reuben Niemeyer and Ruth Niemeyer.
Don was a 1943 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was a machinist and retired from STAMCO in New Bremen. Faith was very important to Don, and he was a longtime member of Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen. He loved his family very much, and he was a kind and gentle soul. He enjoyed bowling in earlier years.
Funeral rites will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Pastor Trent Fledderjohan, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to either Faith Alliance Church or WTGN Radio.
The funeral services will be live streamed via Millerfuneralhomes.net, and condolences may also be sent Don's family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a mask in accordance with the mandate of the Ohio Department of Health.
