Carolyn Bruns
Carolyn R. "Carol" Bruns, age 75, of St. Henry, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus following a very brief battle with cancer.
She was born November 29, 1945 in Celina, Ohio to the late Othmar & Florence (Gehle) Rammel. On August 14, 1965 she married her husband of over 50 years, Gerald "Jerry" Bruns, and he survives in St. Henry.
Carol is survived by children, Cindy Brunswick of St. Henry, Shelly & Todd Busse of New Bremen, Kelly & Almir Filadelfo of St. Henry, Holly & Doug Prenger of Minster, Stacy & Mark Tangeman of New Bremen, and Steve & Melissa Bruns of Hilliard, 22 grandchildren, Jerica & Matt Drapp, Carissa, Madison, and Aiden Brunswick, Danielle Bornhorst & Matt Nietfeld, Kirstie & Zack Miller, Reece and Ryland Busse, Kaitlyn Filadelfo & fiancé Aaron Sparks, Kelsey, Kaleb, and Keshia Filadelfo, Xavier and Maverick Prenger, Elijah, Whitney, Sophia, and Gabrielle Tangeman, and Payten, Cooper, Harper, and McKenna Bruns, and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings and in-laws, Don & Judy Rammel, Mary & Jim Vanden Bosch, Margie & John Langenkamp, Angie & Ken Philipot, Bill & Jill Rammel, Fred & Edna Bruns, Carol & Roger Gigandet, Tom & Marilyn Bruns, Mary Lou & Ken Meyer, Dick Bruns, Harry & Kathy Bruns, Bill Bruns, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by a brother Ken Rammel.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, and the Altar Rosary Sodality. She was employed at Gel's Market in St. Henry for over 40 years and worked the polls for the elections in St. Henry. Carol enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends and especially following the grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial with respects to social distancing will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Livestreaming of the funeral mass will be available https://sthenrycluster.com/livestream/. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8pm on Monday May 3, and 9-10am on Tuesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
