Homan, Dellinger, Hays take top honors

Fort Recovery catcher Brenna Homan was named the Midwest Athletic Conference's Softball Player of the Year while Coldwater pitcher/outfielder Reece Dellinger and New Bremen pitcher/infielder were named MAC baseball Co-Players of the Year on Tuesday as the conference released its all-conference teams as selected by the coaches.
Homan had a blistering season as the leadoff hitter for the Indians, batting .543 with 14 doubles and 53 runs scored to go with 35 stolen bases, helping her break the conference record for career stolen bases.
Dellinger was key for the Cavaliers on the mound and at the bat in helping the team win their 32nd MAC title. Dellinger is 5-1 with a 0.94 earned average as the main pitcher for the team. In 37 1/3 innings, Dellinger has struck out 70 batters. At the plate, Dellinger is hitting .367 with 11 doubles and 31 RBI.
Hays helped the Cardinals win their first-ever MAC title this season in going 7-2 in conference play. Hays is hitting .379 with seven doubles and 29 runs scored and has stolen 22 bases this season. On the mound, Hays is 5-1 with a 2.14 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 36 innings.
Minster's Robb Hemmelgarn earned the MAC Softball Coach of the Year award in guiding the Wildcats to a third straight conference crown. Coldwater's Brian Harlamert shared Coach of the Year honors with New Bremen's Chad Wells.
