Phyllis Fell
Phyllis M. Fell, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
She was born in Salem Township near Spencerville on March 14, 1933 to William L. and Lucille (Wright) Seibert.
On February 17, 1956, she married William Harold (W.H.) Fell, who passed away in 2006.
Survivors include brother, Hugh (Nancy) Seibert, sister in law Vicki Seibert, sister in law Virginia Fell, children Carl (Kathy) Fell, Lynn (Mary) Fell, Dorine (Daniel) Vogel, grandchildren Andrew (Katie) Fell, Rachel (Adam) Blake, Jamison (Rebekah) Vogel, Jonathan Vogel and great grandchildren Levi Blake, Magnolia Blake, and Baby Vogel. She had several nieces and nephews that she remained close to throughout her life.
Also deceased in addition to her husband and parents are brother Jay Seibert, brother in law Norman Fell, and sister in law Neoma Montgomery.
Phyllis was a graduate of Spencerville High School Class of 1951, The Ohio State University and received her Masters from Miami University at Oxford. She was a current employee of WalMart in Celina, Ohio where she met many new friends.
She was previously a Home Economics teacher in the Spencerville Middle School for several years before retiring in 1995. She valued teaching junior high students simple life skills such as cooking, laundry, sewing and basic child care skills. She enjoyed music and for many years, co-directed the all school musicals. She enjoyed coaching the scholastic bowl teams and helped the student council with refreshment stands during sporting events. In 1990, she was named Spencerville's Citizen of the Year. Phyllis was a member of the Kossuth Zion United Methodist Church where she was an active Sunday School Teacher. She helped with the Bible School program in the past and was a past Lay Leader for the West Ohio Methodist Church. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, china painting, children, and helping people.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.
A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday following the visitation with Allan Brown officiating.
Burial will be at the New Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Kossuth Zion United Methodist Church.
