William Carver
William "Bill" David Carver, age 78 of Marion, went home to the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021 after a prolonged illness.
Bill was born on February 15, 1943 to the late Wilmer and Bonnie (Gandee) Carver in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Carver and his first wife, Jeannie Carver.
Those who will cherish his memory include his wife of 17 years, Marilyn (Cloninger) Carver of Marion, Ohio, a son: Joel (Janice) Brown of Utica, Ohio, a daughter: Dawn Dixon of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a stepdaughter: Amy Riggs of North Carolina; a sister: Jean (Darrell) Evans of Gandeeville, West Virginia; a sister-in-law: Kay Carver of Marion, Ohio; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill worked for many years for Tecumseh Manufacturing till it closed. He retired from North Central Correctional Institution. Bill was a member of Dayspring Wesleyan Church, a member and past president of Y-Men's Service Club of Marion and helped with KIROS. Bill loved his family and enjoyed playing golf and traveling.
As per wishes, Bill was cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his memory to the Dayspring Wesleyan Church, Heartland Hospice of Marion and/or Y-Men of Marion.
Friends and family may come to honor Bill's life on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dayspring Wesleyan Church, 2431 Marion Mt. Gilead Road, Marion, Ohio 43302.
A memorial service will follow starting at 1 p.m. at the Dayspring Wesleyan Church with lead pastor, Reverend Chuck Osborne of the Dayspring Wesleyan Church along with Bill's nephew, Dr. Wayne Evans of Mount Pleasant Evangelical Friends Church in Mount Pleasant, Ohio.
