Craig Miesse
Dr. Craig R. Miesse, age 66, of Celina, passed away at 7:16 pm on June 29, 2021 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
He was born on October 16, 1954 in Celina to the late Dan Albert & RoseAnn (Thomas) Miesse. On August 7, 1976 he married Pam (Pond) Miesse who survives at their residence in Celina.
Craig is also survived by his two children: Rachel (Marvin) Kittle and Jonathan (Julie) Miesse; a brother: Gary (Jan) Miesse; and eight grandchildren: Caden, Eowyn, Eragon, Kashton, Logan, Austin, Rhett, & Bexley.
Craig was a 1973 graduate of Celina High School; he then received his undergraduate degree at Wright State University in Dayton and his doctorate in veterinary medicine from The Ohio State University in 1981. Craig practiced veterinary medicine for 40 years and became the co-owner of the Celina Animal Hospital in 1986. His years as a vet allowed him to treat and care for thousands of animals, both large and small. These animals were not only patients of his, but were cherished family members to many. He was known for his knowledge, expertise and compassion for his entire career and had a true passion for the animals he treated and their families alike.
Craig was a member of the Celina Baptist Temple, the NRA, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and served as a representative to the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and was currently serving on the State Ethics Board for Veterinary Medicine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Bible study at the church and most importantly, spending free time with his family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:30 am in the Celina Baptist Temple, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
