Joyce Lampert
Joyce E. Lampert, age 81, of Minster, Ohio died Friday, July 2, 2021 at her home in Minster.
She was born June 11, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Floyd & Frieda (Borchers) Monnin. She married Donald Lampert on June 25, 1960 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. He survives in Minster. She is also survived by children: Jeffrey & Margaret Lampert, Spokane Valley, WA, Gregory Lampert, Valencia, CA, Jodi & Steve Greenwood, Dayton, Ohio, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren: siblings: Floyd Jr. & Rosemary Monnin, Versailles, Carol & Ben Bell, Foley, AL, Phyllis Eilerman, Ft. Loramie, Rosemary Monnin & friend Nan Fischer, Cincinnati, Daniel & Sally Monnin, Russia, Michael & Bonnie Monnin, Russia, and Angela & Ronald Zimmerman, Ft. Loramie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Doris & Celestine "Bud" Hoying, brother-in-law Patrick Eilerman, Donald's parents Alfred & Loretta Lampert, sister-in-law Evangeline & Robert Young. The family would especially like to thank the nurses (Jane, Shelby and Kristin) from Grand Lake Hospice for their gentle care and helpful guidance during the last 3 months of this 12.5 year journey. Very special thank yous to Katie Bollheimer and Jocelyn (Josie) York for being both a friend to, and a loving caregiver to Joyce and her family and at the very end, her niece Melissa McEldowney.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and her involvement and membership included St. Monica's Sodality, the Mission Commission, the Art and Environment Committee, and she made a vast amount of rosaries for the missions. She worked at the Minster High School Cafeteria and was an Administrative Assistant at Wright Patterson Air Force Base & for 15 years at Copeland for the Vice President of International Sales. After retirement she assisted the CEO & CFO at Copeland. She was Secretary and Treasurer for the Minster Historical Society, she was a quilter with the Peacemakers at the Maria Stein Retreat Center, and she volunteered her services for the Center for Neurological Development.
Joyce enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, riding bikes, walking, gardening, sewing, and traveling both domestically and internationally. The highlight of her travels was a trip to the Holy Land. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Frankline Rayapa & Rev. Louis Schmit con-celebrating.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 8, 2021 and from 9 to 9:30 AM on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Grand Lake Hospice.
