Mmmm, Donuts
Coming in 2022: Celina will run on Dunkin'
By William Kincaid
CELINA - A Dunkin' store is in the works for Celina.
The world's leading baked goods and coffee chain aims to open a new site at 1914 Havemann Road on a parcel of land in front of Menards and Walmart.
If all goes as planned, the store would open in the spring or summer of 2022, said Ryan Stroup, project manager of MDM Surveyors & Engineers LLC of Warrendale, Pennsylvania.
Stroup came before Celina Planning commissioners Thursday night
on behalf of Dunkin' and Danop LTD of East
Milan requesting a
site plan review.
"I just know that Dunkin's really excited to be in Celina," Stroup told commissioners. "The site is going to be on a Menards' outparcel. It will be two means of ingress and egress, two driveways essentially, for circulation around the site."
Stroup said it would be a very nice, clean building consisting of 2,000 square feet.
"They're all over. I know recently we've been doing a lot of work in Ohio," Stroup said. "I've been doing three or four every year and I'm just the tip of the iceberg."
He presented to city engineers on Thursday what he hopes are the final full set of plans.
"I look forward to seeing this," said commissioner Tom Hone. "That will be a nice addition to our town."
Commissioner and mayor Jeff Hazel pointed to one issue that needs addressed.
"Their access drive … it is going on the Menards lot," Hazel said. "So Menards does own that, so they have to have something in writing from Menards to allow that access. Because we can't approve to drive on somebody else's property."
Commissioners then approved the site plan review contingent on Menards' allowing the store to access the drive in question.
