Jeffrey Secaur
Jeffrey A. Secaur, 58, of Rockford, Ohio, formerly of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Decatur, Indiana on June 12, 1963, the son of the late Ronald E. and Jeannette A. (Knoth) Secaur.
He was a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Rockford, Ohio. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School and Bellmont High School Class of 1981. Jeff served his beloved country for four years in the United States Airforce and was a member of the American Legion also in Rockford, Ohio.
He worked the majority of his life as an independent contractor and among his many skills was a gifted carpenter. He had a strong work ethic and liked to stay busy and work on his house. Jeff had tremendous love for his family especially his children and granddaughter. He continuously educated himself about Catholicism and was devout and unwavering in his Faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Nina M. Secaur of Rockford, OH; a son, Seth J. Secaur of Rockford, OH; a granddaughter, Micah C. Klinger; 4 sisters, Missy (Martin) Simonson of Rough River, KY, Jenny (Bruce) Girard and Sarah Hain both of Decatur, IN, Stephanie (Tim) Schlemmer of Ohio City, OH; a brother, Kenny (Allison) Secaur of Mishawaka; a brother-in-law, Gary Strait.
Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Nicole J. Strait.
Visitation will be from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 2:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior in the St. Mary's Parish Hall from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Father Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S. will be presiding and burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard.
Memorials may be made to Mercer County Cancer Association.
