Edwin Homan
Edwin P. Homan, age 95, of Philothea, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born May 3, 1926, in Philothea to the late Theodore & Matilda (Braun) Homan. On November 24, 1951 at St. Wendelin Church, he married Luella (Heuing) and she survives in Coldwater.
He is survived by a son Ronald (Susan) Homan of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Judith Homan of Coldwater; four grandchildren, Chris (Mary) Homan of Solon, Becky (Brian) Bendlak of Boston Heights, Joe (Emily) Homan of Delaware, and Mike Homan of Delaware; three great-grandchildren, Abby ,Gavin and Daniel Bendlak; and siblings and in-laws, Louis (Mildred) Homan of Dayton, Mary Lou Klopfenstein of St. Marys, Helen (Richard) Trigg of Kimberling, MO, Helen Homan of Coldwater and Lavern Heuing of Coldwater.
He is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Raymond Homan, Leonore Homan, Alvira Homan, Alfred (Bernie) Homan, Victor (Esther) Homan, Viola (Harold) Muhlenkamp, Martina (Carl) Uhlenhake, Thomas Homan, Julianna Homan, Ralph Klopfenstein, Clarence (Shirley) Heuing and Margery Heuing.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Philothea, Knights of Columbus, and the farm bureau. Edwin worked as a farmer and a group leader at the former AVCO New Idea in Coldwater.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at St. Mary Church, Philothea. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Philothea. The Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater is handling the arrangements.
