Allen Metcalf
Allen Ray Metcalf, age 75, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Sunday October 24, 2021 at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio.
He was born on June 21, 1946 in Big Rapids, Michigan to the late Dewey E. and Marian (Davenport) Metcalf. On July 9, 2006 he married Barbara (Hicks) Foster-Metcalf, who survives in Celina.
He is also survived by; his son Scott Metcalf of Lima, step son Daniel Foster of Celina, two grandchildren; Brooke M. Metcalf of Toledo and Cody Metcalf of Lima. His two brothers are surviving; Jerry Metcalf of Springfield, TN, Dewey Metcalf Jr. of Stanwood, MI, a sister Bonnie Eastman of Lansing, MI, a sister-in-law Bonnie Harrod of Mousie, Ky, two brothers-in-law Marion (Maryln) Hicks of St. Marys and Kenneth Hicks of Mousie, Ky.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law Delmas (Phyllis) Hicks, Carmen Hicks, Timothy Hicks, Charles Hicks, Bruce Harrod and sister-in-law Buretta (Thee) Handshoe and Patricia (Ellis) Green.
Allen graduated from Lima Bath High School with the Class of 1964. Then he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his service to his country, he owned and operated the family pipeline business. Until he was hired by the Lima Tank Plant. Then he went to work for AGCO New Idea in Coldwater for three years, before returning to the Tank Plant in Lima until he retired in 1990. He was a member of the Celina American Legion Post #210, a Life member of the Celina V. F. W. Post #5713, a member of the Celina Eagles and the Celina Moose Lodge. Allen enjoyed fishing his passion was catching Crappies on Grand Lake.
A Memorial service will be held at 3p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Marion Hicks officiating. Military Honors follow the services at the funeral home, provided by the Celina American Legion Post and the Celina V.F.W. Post.
A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, before services at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
