June Bertke
H. June Bertke age 86 of Maria Stein, Ohio died at 8:48 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at The Gardens of St. Henry, Ohio.
She was born on June 4, 1935 in Darke County to the late R. Paul & Laoma M. (Berger) Hixson. She married Virgil "Bud" Bertke on May 11, 1957, in Frenchtown, Ohio. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2008.
She is survived by children: Sue & Dennis Mueller, Centerville, Rick Bertke, Maria Stein, Karen & Kent Shaner, Maria Stein, Nancy Bertke, Maria Stein, Paul & Angie Bertke, Kettering, Dale & Sandy Bertke, St. Henry, Jim & Annette Bertke, New Bremen, 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, sister Connie Kellenberger, Coral Springs, FL, sister-in-law Martha Lou Siegrist, Beavercreek.
She was preceded in death by granddaughter Tanis Spragg, in-laws Donald Kellenberger & John Siegrist.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Maria Stein American Legion Auxiliary, and the Knights of St. John Auxiliary Uniform Rank. She also volunteered at the Cancer Association of Mercer County, Mercer County Right To Life and the Shrine of the Holy Relics. She loved to do word searches and was an avid bingo player.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, January 17, 2022 and from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday.
