Roughriders win Sielski Duals

St. Marys ran the table in winning the 20th annual Bob Sielski Memorial Wrestling Duals Tournament at the Palace at Coldwater High School on Saturday.

The Roughriders went 5-0 in the dual format tournament. Brookville was second, only losing to St. Marys in the final round with Liberty Center placing third at 3-2. The host Cavaliers were fourth at 2-3 followed by Indian Lake (2-3), Columbus Grove (2-3), Maderia (2-3) and Dayton Christian (0-5).
St. Marys opened the day with a 71-6 win over Columbus Grove, then defeated Dayton Chrstian 75-3. In the final round of pool play, the Roughriders defeated Coldwater 75-3 and then in the first crossover round defeated Liberty Center 39-23. The Roughriders then closed out the day in beating Brookville 57-12.
Coldwater started its day with two wins in beating Dayton Christian 76-6 and Columbus Grove 45-18 before losing to St. Marys. In round four, Coldwater lost 41-32 to Brookville before losing 48-18to Liberty Center in the final round.
Wrestlers going 5-0 on the day included St. Marys' Tate Hisey, Michael Crites, Tyler Hisey, Trevor Hisey and Stashu Patterson. Sam Obringer was the lone Coldwater wrestler to go undefeated.

Triad Invitational
Celina sent a squad to North Lewisburg and finished third behind Bowling Green and Jonathan Alder.
Rece Rutledge won the 190-pound weight class for the Bulldogs. Kaleb Krogman (106) and Andrew Hines (126) earned runner-up showings. Tony Capatillo (126), Colin Fokine (132) and Zeph Miller (138) finished third in their weight classes with Carver Harris taking fourth at 157). Fifth-place efforts were achieved by Victor Capatillo (120), Mitch Kirkpatrick (144) and Kobe Thomson (175) with Skyler Fokine taking sixth at 132.
Crestview Duals
Parkway finished fifth in the 10-team duals format tournament in Convoy.
Archbold won the tournament with Spencerville second and the host Knights third.
No individual match results were available.

SWIMMING
Lions Invitational
The Auglaize-Mercer County YMCA hosted the annual meet co-hosted by Celina and Wapakoneta.
Wapakoneta won the boys' team title with WBL rival Ottawa-Glandorf taking second. St. Marys was fourth with New Bremen eighth and host Celina taking ninth. Ottawa-Glandorf won the girls' title with St. Marys fifth, Celina sixth and New Bremen ninth.
Ciera Rupert of St. Marys won the girls 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke. New Bremen's Andy Jiang took first in the 100 butterfly.
Fremont Ross Double Dual
Coldwater competed in a double-dual format meet at Fremont Ross. The Cavalier girls defeated Ottawa Hills 75-52 and lost to the host Little Giants 59-101. The Cavalier boys lost 90-12 to Ottawa Hills and 141-5 to Fremont Ross.
The Cavalier girls swept all three relays while Carlee Goodwin won the 100 backstroke, Heidi Bruns captured the 100 breaststroke and Brianne Burrows took first in the diving.

Grandview Heights 35
The Flyers outscored the Bobcats 28-19 in the second half to pull away for the win over the state-ranked team from the Columbus area in the weekend showcase at Fort Loramie High School.
Grandview led 9-6 after the first quarter before Marion used a 17-7 second quarter to go out in front 23-16 at the half.
Jack Knapke scored seven of his game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Flyers pulled away. Brady Ronnebaum and Jadyn Mescher each added eight for Marion.
Aiden Leslie led Grandview Heights with 11 points.

Crestview 43 (OT)
The Wildcats outscored the Knights 6-1 in the extra session to pick up their second straight win in the opening game of Sunday's MLK Classic in Fort Loramie.
Minster led 25-15 at the half before Crestview outscored the Wildcats 27-17 to tie the game in regulation, Minster held Crestview to one free throw in overtime.
Brogan Stephey finished with 21 points to lead Minster with James Niemeyer adding 10.
Gavin Etzler led Crestview with 14 points.

The Cardinals rallied from a five-point deficit going into the fourth quarter to beat the Raiders at Naveau Gymnasium in Russia.
New Bremen was down 17-9 after one quarter and 29-22 at the half and trailed 42-37 after three quarters before rallying to tie the game in regulation. In the extra session, Aaron Thieman scored five of his game-high 25 points to help the Cardinals pick up the win.
Trevor Bergman added 14 points and Nick Alig scored 10.
Braylon Cordonnier scored 16 for the Raiders.

St. Henry 51, Ottoville 49
Bennett Gels' two free throws with four seconds left lifted the Redskins past the Big Green at Redskin Gymnasium.
St. Henry led 35-34 after three quarters and were up 42-34 early in the fourth quarter before Ottoville came back. Will Miller's bucket put the Big Green in front 49-47, but Sam Koesters hit two free throws to tie the game before Gels sank the game-winners with four seconds left.
Koesters finished with a game-high 20 points for St. Henry. Jaden Lange added 13 points.
Miller and Alex Suever paced Ottoville with 15 points each.

The Bulldogs held off the Thunderbirds over the second half to pick up their third win of the season in a matinee at the Fieldhouse.
Celina took a 28-24 lead at the half and were up 34-28 after three quarters.
Kyilla Billingsley and Taylor Klingshirn each had 14 points to lead Celina.
Olivia Stolly led LCC with 22 points.

Fort Recovery 25
The Indians drop to 2-12 after falling to the Starfires at Fort Site Fieldhouse. The teams scheduled the game after Fort Recovery's game with Ansonia was postponed. The Indians and Starfires will play again on Tuesday in Berne.
The game was close in the first half with South Adams leading 13-11 at the half before a 24-4 third quarter put the Starfires in front to stay.
Kennedy Muhlenkamp led Fort Recovery with six points.

Celina-St. Marys
The Bulldogs swept the Roughriders in their Western Buckeye League matchup at Varsity Lanes in St. Marys.
The Celina girls trailed by as many as 120 pins early before rallying for a 2,466-2,407 win. Emma Whistler had a 405 series for Celina with Ashtyn Huber adding a 372 series. Allyson Speckman led St. Marys with a 386 with Kayla Homan adding a 354.
In the boys match, Celina won 2,651-2,588. Kaleb Fishbaugh led the Bulldogs with a 397 series. Britt Hole added a 344.
Cyrus Kerr led St. Marys with a 409.
MAC Week Six
The Versailles girls and Coldwater boys maintained their undefeated league records in picking up wins at Community Lanes in Minster.
Versailles won Minster 2,461-2,030 in girls action. Parkway picked up a 2,138-1,910 win over Marion Local and Coldwater defeated New Bremen 2,452-2,060. High game honors went to Coldwater's Jasmine Schulze with a 256.
On the boys side, Coldwater defeated New Bremen 3,157-2,918. Marion Local picked up a 2,474-2,047 win over Parkway with St. Henry defeating Fort Recovery 2,926-2,468 and Versailles defeating Minster 2,918-2,878. Hayden Beougher of Coldwater had the top game of the day with a 266.
The MAC teams wrap up the regular season this Saturday at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater. The MAC tournament will take place Feb. 11 and 12 at Versailles' McBo's Lanes.
