Buz Kemp
Long time Texan "Buz", Barrett George Kemp II, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on February 8th, 2022, in St. Marys Ohio.
Buz was born August 14th, 1958 in Celina, Ohio to his Father, Barrett G. Kemp of St. Marys Ohio, and Mother, Patricia A. Picard of Detour Village, Michigan both of whom preceded him in death.
He grew up in the town of St. Marys, Ohio where he finished high school and went on to study his basics and various trades. He later enlisted with the United States Army, where he was ultimately discharged for medical reasons. After moving to Texas in the early 1980's, he began his career as an oil field mechanic, which in turn led him to run 2 successful radiator shops in Beaumont, Tx for almost 20 years before moving to Austin, Tx in 2002. There he worked as the Regional Manager of Four Seasons, covering Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Beaumont.
Around 2010, he made his way to Michigan where he could take care of his mother and became very fond of the many people referred to as his "Soo Family". His final journey was led back to St. Marys Ohio, reconnecting with his high-school sweetheart, in a town where he was loved by many. Buz was always a very active person throughout his life. He cherished every chance he had to fish all day, coach little league baseball, go to sporting events, and most importantly, show his love and affection to his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, 3 children, 10 grandchildren, niece, vast lineage of family and lifelong friends, stretching from Ohio, Michigan, Texas, and many parts of the United States.
As Buz was a person to put others ahead of himself, private settings will take place as he couldn't bear the thought of sadness from others, in hopes of creating an everlasting smile from all. His final wishes were to be cremated and his ashes cast near the Great Lakes of Michigan, where the lasting memory of a mother he adored so much, will take his hand, walk with him through the Gates of Heaven, and join his father to watch over each, and every one of us.
