Mendon street commissioner Randy Severns accepts a plaque during Tuesday's village council meeting commemorating his retirement after roughly 20 years of service to the village. Severns said his replacements will be Josh Kinney, superintendent, and Corey Walls, assistant superintendent. Council also approved a bid of $4,000 from Paul Germann for the purchase of the village's 1995 GMC dump truck. The next village council meeting is 7 p.m. March 29 at the village hall.
