The season ended for both the Celina and St. Marys boys bowling teams, as neither squad could qualify for state after competing at the Division I district tournament at Star Lanes at the Harbor in Port Clinton.
The Bulldogs overcame a sluggish first game of regulation play to finish second in the tournament with a final score of 4,007, but with just one team earning a trip to state, it was Ashland's final tally of 4,263 that secured the lone berth in Columbus next week.
St. Marys finished third with 3,960. WBL rival Wapakoneta was fifth with Defiance taking eighth.
Celina's Britt Hole finished ninth in the individual standings with a 615 series. Teammate Marcus Rable was one pin back to finish 10th with a 614 series.
St. Marys picked up a 600 series from Cayden Ballweg to earn 15th place. Cole Koenig was 17th with a 590 series.
Ashland's Parker Grissinger was district medalist with a 714 series. Lexington's Aiden Compton was second with a 650 to earn the lone individual qualifying spot for state. Wapakoenta's Eli Van Meter was third with a 639 and Defiance's Boston Briseno was fourth with a 638.
