David Eyink
David A. Eyink, 63, of Montezuma, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 7, 1958, to the late Arthur and Mary Etta (Sutter) Eyink. On November 22, 1980 he was blessed to marry his wife Sharon (Pohlman) of 41 years, who survives.
David is also survived by his son Alan and Kate (McLoughlin) Eyink of Columbia MO and daughter Elizabeth and Bradley Armstrong of Russia OH.
David was preceded in death by son Robert Eyink.
Also surviving are his eight grandchildren: Owen, Evelyn, Brynn, and Ryan Eyink, Elli, Maci, Xavier, and Louis Armstrong. He is survived by his three brothers: Greg and Qiaoning Eyink Towson MD, Kurt and Jean Eyink of Beavercreek OH, Terry and Rebecca Eyink of New Bremen OH and sister Nancy and Abdel-Hamid Hasabelnaby of Toledo, OH, Rich and the late Lorna Seas of Peebles OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents the late Arthur and Mary Etta Eyink, and in-laws the late Louis and Ellenor Pohlman.
He is survived by in-laws: Norma and Irvin Osterloh of Arkdale WI, Ruth and Thomas Knapke of Celina, OH, Margie and David Bensman of Minster, OH. James and Linda Pohlman of Versailles, OH, Donald and the late Elaine Heitkamp of Pagosa Springs, CO, Henry and Rebecca Pohlman of Versailles, OH, the late Nicholas and Marilyn Pohlman of Russia, OH, Tony and the late Mary Luthman of McCartyville, OH, William and Theresa Pohlman of Versailles, OH, Theodore and Diane Pohlman and Samuel and Betty Pohlman of Yorkshire, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
David was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed competitive bass fishing. He was also former president of Mercer County Farm Bureau, executive board member of the Lake Improvement Association, member of the Mercer County Liberty Group, operated Clover Dairy Farm and was previous co-owner of the St. Mary's and New Bremen DQ and Perfect Party Catering. He graduated in 1976 from Celina Senior High School. David was a former employee of Crown Equipment and recently retired from Machine Pro Technologies. One could always find David on the lake teaching and spreading his love of fishing. He was his children's biggest sports fan and one could always hear him cheering them on. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved the most.
Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
Calling was 3 to 8 on Friday and is 9 to 10 am on Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
