16.4 PPG, 4.9 Rebounds, 1.5 Assists, 2.6 Steals
After leading a talented Flyers team in scoring, rebounding and steals as a junior, Hoelscher took her game to a new level in her senior year, adding four points per game and improving her ability to distribute the ball.
With the graduation of Alana Pohlman and Heidi Rethman, Hoelscher stepped up with a younger cast around her, combining the ability to generate her own shots with tenacious defense.
The Flyers responded to a 3-5 start by winning 10 of their next 11, ultimately reaching the district final before falling to eventual state runner-up New Knoxville.
"They've got some players we just couldn't hold down, and one was Sammy Hoelscher," Rangers coach Tim Hegemier said after the district final. "What a player. She's really good."
Hoelscher scored her 1,000th point on a trey in the final two minutes of a 61-44 win over Parkway on Feb. 10. After the season, she earned all-Midwest Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year and first-team all-district honors.
