Marion Local returned just two starters from 2020-21 and lost top scorer Alex Eyink, but Ronnebaum built on a solid junior season as the Flyers didn't miss a beat.
Ronnebaum stepped into Eyink's role as the main ballhandler and emerged as an all-around scoring threat, from his perimeter shooting and dribble penetration his ability to find open teammates. As Marion shifted from heavy 3-point shooting early in the season to focusing on attacking the paint, Ronnebaum would find sophomore center Jack Knapke or take the ball up the lane himself to shred opposing defenses.
The Flyers won their final five regular season games before making a run to the regional tournament, with Ronnebaum scoring 20 in the postseason opener against New Knoxville and averaging 10.2 points per game in the tournament.
