Paula McIlroy
Paula Kay McIlroy, 79, of Celina, Ohio, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
She was born on October 30, 1942 in Celina, Ohio to the late Paul J. and Marcella M. "Sallie" (Spriggs) Remaklus. On March 29, 1965 she married Monty H. "Mac" McIlroy, who died on December 23, 2004.
Paula was also preceded in death by twins; son Paul Andrew McIlroy, daughter Jennifer Rachel McIlroy; her sister Marilyn A. Remaklus and son-in-law Jeff A. Craven.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Hallie Craven and Jessica (Louis) Schiavone, both of Celina. She also leaves behind, five grandchildren; Natalie G. Cooper of Columbus, Ohio, Phillip Craven of Chesapeake, VA, Arthur Craven of Seoul, South Korea, Sara Schiavone, Columbus, Ohio and Alex (Emily) Schiavone of Celina, great grandchildren; Connor Craven, Aubree Craven, Noah Schiavone, Adilynn Schiavone, her foster-Son John Gray, Celina and dear friends Carol Sue Wurster and Patricia Kobe.
Paula graduated from Celina High School in 1960 and received her Bachelors of Arts in Education from Ohio Northern University in 1967. She was an educator for Celina City Schools and West Central Day Treatment until she retired in 2011. Paula was also a co-owner and operator of the Remaklus Company. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, where she taught Religious Education for twenty-seven years. Paula also served as the Parish Wedding Liaison and the Parish Youth Minister for several years. Paula served as volunteer with the March of Dimes and Adult Day Services program Art Sense, Union City, Ohio. She volunteered her time and services to the National Wildlife Association and raised and released abandoned and displaced wildlife throughout her life. Paula's life was enriched by her love of nature, reading and spending time with friends, her family and former students.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Andy O'Reilly C. PP. S. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022 and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
