Diana Goettemoeller
Diana M. Goettemoeller, age 63 of Botkins, Ohio died at 11:54 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 surrounded by family at her home.
She was born on August 10, 1958 in Coldwater, Ohio to Norbert & Lillian (Jutte) Albers.
She was preceded in death by her mother. Her father & stepmother Jeannette (Bendele McEvoy) survive in Carthagena.
She married John Goettemoeller on May 23, 1981 in St. Aloysius Church, Carthagena who survives in Botkins, along with their children Greg & Dana Goettemoeller of Grove City, Alicia & Dan Fleck of Centerville, Paul Goettemoeller of New Knoxville, and Andrea Goettemoeller of Dayton; grandchildren Adeline and Mabel Goettemoeller, and one grandchild on the way. She is also survived by siblings Roger & Brenda Albers of Carthagena, Doris & Herb Wilker of St. Sebastian, Denise & Todd Stammen of St. Henry, and in-laws Duane & Melody Goettemoeller of McCartyville, James Goettemoeller of Botkins, Nancy & Carl Stehulak of Defiance, Joe & Joanna Goettemoeller of Botkins, and Pamela & James Kaiser of New Bremen.
She was a retired nurse after 42 years of service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, and member and organist at Sacred Heart of Jesus, McCartyville. Diana started playing the organ at church at age 14 and played for over 49 years at many churches, including St. Aloysius, Carthagena; Holy Redeemer, New Bremen; Immaculate Conception, Botkins; St. Lawrence, Rhine; the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics; and Sacred Heart of Jesus, McCartyville. Diana loved gathering friends and family around the table to share good meals and "table ministry." Above all, she always stated her favorite role was being a mother and grandmother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 AM on Monday, April 11 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville with Rev. Steve Mondiek, celebrant. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 PM on Sunday, April 9, at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster and from 8 to 9 AM on Monday at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacred Heart Pipe Organ Fund.
