Eileen Brown
Alice Eileen Brown, age 95, of Mendon, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at The Gardens of Celina.
Eileen was born on October 15, 1926 in Mercer County, a daughter of the late Tony F. and Ada Mae (Lamond) Webb. On December 18, 1943, Eileen married John Arthur Brown and he preceded her in death on August 7, 1983.
Surviving are their two children, Jerry (Lynn) Brown of Pueblo West, Colorado and Karen (Galen) McMichael of Mendon, four grandchildren: Nicole (Russell) Nuzzo, Nick (Jennifer) Brown, Amy McMichael, Cooper John Brown and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Tyler Brown. Other survivors are a sister, Maxine Chamberlain of Sandusky and a sister-in-law, June Armstrong of Cridersville.
Preceding Eileen in death were a grandson, Kurt McMichael, three brothers: Orville Webb, Ross "Jake" Webb and Tony Webb, Jr., four sisters: Thelma Zizelman, Nadine Klingler, Doris Rumler and Wilma Webb, a sister-in-law, Helen Ankerman and a brother-in-law, George Armstrong.
After attending Mendon-Union High School, Eileen worked at the Stokely Pickle Plant in Celina. Later, she worked at Huffy Manufacturing and retired after many years in assembly. Eileen met her future husband, John, while he was out riding his motorcycle and stopped to say "hi". Eileen and John shared a love of Harley-Davidsons and enjoyed riding together. She treasured trips with family, particularly fishing trips to Canada. Eileen also enjoyed a bit of gambling, trips to Las Vegas and local casinos and playing the lottery. A dog lover, Eileen usually had a pet, from Miniature Poodles to Yorkies. She looked forward to weekly shopping trips with her daughter, Karen. Eileen took pride in her home and always decorated for the holidays, especially Christmas.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20th at Mendon Cemetery. Pastor Randy Christian will officiate.
