Dale Ranly
Dale E. Ranly, age 67, of Coldwater, Ohio, died Sunday, May 1, 2022, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born February 19, 1955, in Coldwater to Harold and Mary Lou (Klenke) Ranly.
He was a 1973 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, and on August 31, 1985, he married Carol Thornton in Sharpsburg, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife Carol and his daughters: Erica (Eugene) Oh of Coldwater, Lydia (Quentin) Elsea of Fort Recovery, Hanna (Mitch) Bihn of Minster, and Krista (Sam) Mulvihill of Des Moines, Washington. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ezra and Moriah Elsea, Eddie and Micah Bihn, and Baby Oh, due to arrive this summer. Other survivors include his mother, Joan (Ganger) Ranly of Fort Recovery; his siblings Mike (Sherry) Ranly of Manchester, Ohio, John (Carol) Ranly of Fort Recovery, Martha (Terry) Vogel of Celina, George (UnChu) Ranly of Dunkirk, Maryland, and Fred (Sharon) Ranly of St. Henry; his father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Mary (Schoen) Thornton of Portland, Indiana; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger (Virginia) Thornton of Uniopolis, Ohio, and Susan (Joe) Reddoch of Fishers, Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Lou, and by his son, Nathan Ranly.
Dale was a welder at Minster Machine for 25 years and retired as a welder from Crown Equipment Corporation. He was a member of Christ Chapel in Fort Recovery. When Dale was not working, you would find him outdoors hiking or arrowhead hunting, tinkering in his workshop, or sharing a good story with his family.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
A service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Quentin Elsea. Burial at Spring Hill Cemetery and a luncheon at Christ Chapel, both in Fort Recovery, will follow.
