Nicholas Hoelscher
Nicholas R. Hoelscher age 90 of Minster, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Heritage Healthcare in Minster.
He was born August 18, 1931 in Fort Loramie to the late Louis & Henrietta (Hilgefort) Hoelscher. On October 29, 1955 he married his wife of over 66 years, Marlene Hoelscher in St. Augustine Church, Minster.
Nicholas is survived by children: Kathy & Joe Neumeier, Rick & Connie Hoelscher, Judy Rauh, all of New Bremen, Tim & Becky Hoelscher of Botkins, and Susan & David Frey of New Bremen. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, siblings: Juliana Phlipot, Doris Hoehne, Cyril & Marilyn Hoelscher, Nelson Hoelscher, and in-laws, Judy Hoelscher, Frank & Carol Hoene, Virgil Arling, Virgil & Katie Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by grandson Casey Hoelscher and siblings; Albert & Lucille Hoelscher, Arnold & Dorothy Hoelscher, Jerome & Pat Hoelscher, Armella & Ray Albers, Paul Hoelscher, Marlene Hoehne, Lucy Hoelscher, Harold Phlipot, and Jim Hoelscher, in-laws; Urban Hoehne, Martha Arling and Carol & Fred Perise.
Nicholas was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He worked at Baumer Construction for 40 plus years, where he was known for his detailed carpentry. He was a life member of the American Legion in Minster as well as a member of Minster, FOE 1391. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Nicholas enjoyed tending his garden especially his rose bushes. Nicholas loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, July 25, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Alt, Celebrant. Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, July 24, and from 9 to 9:45 AM on Monday.
