Mary Alice Dahlinghaus
Mary Alice Dahlinghaus, age 84, of Burkettsville, died on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Heritage Healthcare in Minster.
She was born January 8, 1938, in Ft. Recovery to the late Henry & Helen (Daughtry) Schwieterman. On July 9, 1960, she married Thomas Dahlinghaus and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2021.
Mary Alice is survived by children: Marilyn Weber of Muncie, IN, Joyce & Eugene Brackman of Maria Stein, and Larry Dahlinghaus and special friend Kellee Merkel of Burkettsville. She is also survived by grandchildren, Barbara Weber, Elizabeth & Caleb Nolin, Suzanne Weber and special friend Dakota Miller, Krista Coats, John & Claire Brackman, Diane & Sam Hoying, Adam Brackman, Gary Brackman and fiancé Hannah Wendel, and Theresa Brackman and special friend Robert Bell, great grandchildren Alexis, Brooklyn, and Silas Coats, Dominic Brackman, Henry, Marcus, and Natalie Hoying, and siblings and in-laws, Ben & Hilda Schwieterman, Leo Schwieterman, Walt & Frieda Schwieterman, Hank & Joyce Schwieterman, Rosemary Poeppelman, Martha Thieman, Andy Dahlinghaus, Ralph & Anna Lee Dahlinghaus, Mary Ann Heckman, and Mary Louise Dahlinghaus.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Alice is preceded in death by a son-in-law Pat Weber, a grandson Dale Brackman, as well as siblings and in-laws, Kathleen & Leo Kramer, Norbert Dahlinghaus, Esther & Jim Schwieterman, Dennis Dahlinghaus, Ed Poeppelman, Earl Thieman, and Tom Heckman.
Mary Alice was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies' Sodality and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John in Maria Stein. She had worked at Gel's IGA in St. Henry. Mary Alice was a strong, loving, and feisty woman that loved to play cards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, July 26, and from 9:00-10:00am on Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
