Mary Homan
Mary Phyllis Homan age 81, of Coldwater, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at the Kindred Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
She was born in Versailles, Ohio on September 2, 1940 to the late Robert Lovell and Esther Naomi (Burkett) Grillot. On May 14, 1960 she married the love of her life Laverne Francis Homan, who survives and lives at their residence in Coldwater.
She is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Robert (Malissa) Homan, Phil (Alicia) Homan, her son-in-law Ronald (Sally Kane) Meeds, all of Celina, six grandchildren Angela (David) Haque of Mendon, Kristin (Jessie) Williams of Mendon, Danielle (Brent) Hoersten of Ottoville, Timothy (Haley) Homan of Celina, Gage (Justine) Homan of Osgood, Peyton Homan of Celina, twelve great grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law Deloris Grillot of Covington and Ellen Grillot of Versailles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Deborah Meeds, her brothers and sister-in-law; John Grillot, David (Leona) Grillot and Robert Grillot.
Mary graduated from Versailles High School in 1958. She was formerly employed at Egg Auction in Versailles, Huffy's Bicycle Corporation in Celina. She was a waitress at the Plaza Bowling Lanes in Celina and a life long Avon distributor. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, where she was involved with the Alter Rosary Sodality and St. Vincent DePaul. She was also a member of the Celina American Legion Auxiliary Post #210. She enjoyed shopping, sitting on her porch swing with her dog Buster, painting, gardening, cleaning houses and bird watching. One of her greatest pleasures was listening to music and she loved attending venues that the Erastus Band was playing. She was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, Aug. 26th, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Fr. Robert Muhlenkamp Officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
A visitation for friends and family, will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, Aug. 25th, 2022 and from 9:00 A.M. -10:00A.M. on Friday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral in Celina.
