Roselyn Bruns
Roselyn J. Bruns, age 88 of St. Henry, died on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at The Gardens of St. Henry.
She was born on May 20, 1934, in St. Sebastian to the late George & Hilda (Bruns) Will. On October 27, 1956, she married Ralph Bruns and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2016.
Roselyn is survived by eight children: Teresa & Steve Poling, St. Henry, Marvin & Cindy Bruns, St. Henry, Diane & Craig Griesdorn, New Bremen, Cindy & Dan Broering, Coldwater, Allan & Janet Bruns, St. Henry, Mary & Dave Bohman, Yorkshire, Lori & Brad Wallace, Greenfield, IN, and Jenni & Wayne Jones, Ft. Recovery. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and in-laws: Lester Bruns, and Dorothy & Dennis Bills, all of St. Henry.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Charles and Riley Broering and Natalie Jones; siblings and in-laws: Charles & Roberta Will, Roger & Irene Will, and Barbara & Don Knapke, Don & Joan Bruns, Ivo & Jean Bruns, Marita & Ed Elking, and Johanna Bruns.
She was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church where she was a lector, helped care for the altar flowers, and was a member of the Altar Rosary Sodality. Roselyn was also a member of the Maria Stein Shrine Adoration Guild. She began her working career as a helping hand for multiple families, nursery aid at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Coldwater, and went on to become a homemaker, babysitter, painter, and later worked at Buehler's Meat Processing in St. Henry for many years. Roselyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, following their many activities. She and Ralph cherished their time with family, "The Gang", and many horseshoe friends. They enjoyed ballroom dancing, fishing, and taking care of the flowers and garden. Roselyn enjoyed her new friends at the Gardens where she spent the last six months. She was a very hard worker and loved the simple things in life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2022, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1:00 until 6:00pm Sunday, August 28, and 9:00 until 10:00 am on Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the St Henry Summer Concert Series through the Mercer Co. Civic Foundation or The Activity Fund at The Gardens at St. Henry.
