Walter P. Steinbrunner, age 86, of Coldwater, died on Friday, August 26, 2022 surrounded by his family, at his home in Coldwater.

He was born March 22, 1936 in Burkettsville to the late Vincent and Olive (Mueller) Steinbrunner. He married Janet (Weiskittel) on September 29, 1962 in Coldwater and she resides in Coldwater.

He is survived by children Ron & Ann Steinbrunner of Sidney, Cheryl & Marty Beyer of Liberty Township, Lisa & Jay Halterman of Coldwater, Glen & Stephanie Steinbrunner of Gilbert, Arizona, Todd & Amy Steinbrunner of Miamisburg, and Jason & Amie Steinbrunner of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Siblings, Ruth Steinbrunner of Coldwater, Mel Steinbrunner of Coldwater, Roman Steinbrunner of Minster, Fr. Jerry Steinbrunner of Cincinnati, and Ed Steinbrunner of St. Henry.

He is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Mark Steinbrunner, Jim Steinbrunner, Norma Jean Prenger, and Carl Weiskittel.

Walter was the former owner of Steinbrunner Construction, president of the Coldwater Band Parents, a Webelo Leader for the Cub Scouts, President of the Holy Name Society, Little League Manager, and officer in the Knights of Columbus, and served 2 years in military service. Walter enjoyed caring for his landscaping, puzzle books, and his dog. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 29,2022 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 PM until 5 PM on Sunday August, 28 and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
