Joan Ranly
Joan Ranly, 92, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away at her home, with her family by her side, on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
She was born on October 6, 1930, in Eaton, Ohio, to the late Willard and Nora (Clester) Ganger.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Sherry) Ranly of Manchester, Ohio, John (Carol) Ranly of Fort Recovery, Martha (Terry) Vogel of Celina, George (UnChu) Ranly of Dunkirk, Maryland, and Fred (Sharon) Ranly of St. Henry; her daughter-in-law, Carol Ranly of Coldwater; her 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Naomi (Jim) Beisner of Troy, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Rheta Ganger of Okeechobee, Florida; and her in-laws, Willie and Ruth Etta Ranly, Mary Lou Nieberding, Elmer Klenke, Esther Goettemoeller, Urban Knapke, Annie Tobe, Barbara June Klenke, Virginia Klenke, and Patty and Joe Brockman.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ranly, whom she married on May 11, 1957, and passed away on October 30, 2009; Harold's first wife, Mary Lou Klenke-Ranly; her son, Dale Ranly; her grandson, Nathan Ranly; her brothers, Samuel (Shirley) Ganger, David (Patricia) Ganger (Mark Pax), and Richard Ganger.
Joan was a 1948 graduate of Ansonia High School. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker caring for her beloved family. Joan was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fort Recovery, where she also served on the funeral luncheon committee for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Fort Recovery Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Joan loved bowling and spent 50 years doing so. She was also known for her great skills as a seamstress and always rooting on her favorite sports.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Father Mike Kapolka celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Joan's family on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery.
