Phillip Shideler
Phillip 'Terry' Shideler, 73, of Cumming, Ga, passed away on November 13, 2022.
He was born November 20th, 1948, in Huntington, Indiana and was the son of the late Phillip F. and Barbara J. (Norwood) Shideler.
Terry was a high school graduate of Lancaster Township High School and attended Huntington College and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to attend IUPUI. He married Linda (Moeller) Tuttle in 1969 and they had one daughter, Amy L. Shideler.
In his early career in Fort Wayne, he worked as a dispatcher for the Allen County Sherriff's Office and in sales at Mcjon Camera Shop. In 1980 he bought his own professional photography studio in Celina, Ohio. He spent the next twenty-five years taking photos of West Central Ohio sports teams, Miss Lake Festival pageant contestants, high school seniors, families, and capturing wedding memories for over 25 couples a year. He was a proud member of the Professional Photographers of Ohio winning countless awards for his photographic works and recently reflected being recognized by his peers as the ultimate honor. He had a lifelong passion for sales and business administration. He was known for his charismatic personality and sense of humor.
After selling his studio in 2005, he moved to Georgia and returned to sales of photography equipment and ended his career at the Buford Sam's Club in February of 2022. Terry was involved in many community organizations including the Celina Lake Festival planning committee, a former member of the Celina Masonic Lodge, and a weekly volunteer at 12Stone church. Terry's faith in God was integral throughout his life, finding a community of believers at Spring Street Wesleyan-Fort Wayne, Indiana, Grace Missionary-Celina, Ohio, Grand Lake Methodist-Celina, Ohio, and 12Stone Church, Buford, Georgia. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie with his long-time friend Carl Eicher, and was an accomplished pianist with a great love of music.
