Ray Propst Jr.
Ray Propst Jr., 84, of Celina, formerly of Wapakoneta, died 8:55 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Mercer Health in Coldwater with his family at his side.
He was born January 8, 1939, in Logan, West Virginia, the son of Henry Ray, Sr. and Julia (Henson) Propst, who preceded him in death. On March 18, 1983, he married Shirley Kerst, and she survives.
Other survivors include, 4 daughters, Roberta (Ernest) Preston, Wapakoneta, Donna (Timothy) Parsons, Wapakoneta, Julia Koch, Wapakoneta, Lisa (Jeffery) Schott Sr., Celina, bonus daughter, Jane (Fred, dec.) Tweedy and bonus son Jason (Tammy) Kerst. Other survivors include, grandchildren, Kelly Glass, T.Ryan (Lisa) Parsons, Kristina Bell, Ashley (Cory) Watson, Jeremy (Stacey) Koch, Kirstin Franks, Amanda (Jesse) Dailey, Laura (Tim) Folger, Tiffany (Michal) Bartko, Ethan Parsons, Rebecca Parsons, Jacob Parsons, bonus grandchildren Alex (Conner) Hart, Brooke Kerst, Vanessa Kerst, Jeffery Schott Jr., Thomas Schott, Mathew Schott, Derrick (Jessica) Schott. Also surviving are 26 great grandchildren with one due in February and a sister-in-law Louise Propst.
He was preceded in death by brothers and their spouses, William Propst, John (Bobby Jean) Propst, Thomas (Mary Lou) Propst, Noah Propst, Andy Propst, sisters and their spouses, Betty (Enoch) Adkins, Della (Pete) Baldwin, Mary (Franklin) Chambers, mother and father in law Oliver and Esther Kuck and his beloved dogs Lily, Chloe and Peaches.
Ray, Jr. retired from Ametek Westchester Plastic, Wapakoneta and Agrana, Botkins. He loved spending time with his family, going to auctions, watching westerns, traveling, going for rides and sitting in the garage watching the cars go by and talking to his buddy.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Jan. 14, 2023, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., Sat. Jan. 14, at the funeral home.
