Charlene Hawk
Charlene Louise Hawk, 76, of Rockford passed away on March 10, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on December 29, 1946, in Celina, daughter of the late William B. Hawk and Thelma W. (Groth) Hawk.
Charlene graduated from Parkway High School, then went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University with two Master's degrees. She worked as an elementary school teacher for 30 years at Wapakoneta schools. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rockford and Celina, where she served as past Worthy Matron numerous times. She also belonged to Women's Life Insurance Society Chapter 17. Charlene enjoyed riding horses and attending harness racing events, especially with her family. She also loved reading.
Surviving are one sister, Miriam (Robert) Fetters of Mendon; one nephew, Michael (Linda) Hawk of Rockford; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, Roger (Connie) Hawk; and one niece, Victoria Mosier.
Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street, Rockford, OH, with Pastor Ken Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 3750 US-33 Rockford, OH 45882.
Family and friends will be received Monday March 20, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, as well as one hour prior to the funeral service, at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlene's memory may be sent to the Rockford Fire Department, 201 S. Main Street, Rockford, OH 45882, or to the Parkway Athletic Boosters, 400 Buckeye St., Rockford, OH 45882.
