Barbara Fullenkamp
Barbara Ann Fullenkamp, 76, of Minster, Ohio, passed away on May 31, 2023, at her daughter's house in New Albany, Ohio.
She was born on May 12, 1947, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Cletus and Florence (Grillot) Hemmelgarn of Burkettsville, Ohio.
Barb attended St. Henry High School, graduating with the class of 1965 and marrying her high school sweetheart on July 2nd 1966. She was a stay-at-home mom and later worked for 35 years at Post Printing. Barb was also a Girl Scout Leader for many years and led 10 young women to receive the Gold Award, which is equivalent to the Eagle Scout. Barb was a faithful person and worshipped at St. Augustine Church, where she was a religion teacher and weekday mass monitor.
She is survived by her husband, Pat and three daughters, Angie & Jim Eschmeyer, Carol & Brad Deslich, and Terri Fullenkamp. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amanda, Claire & David, and Luke Eschmeyer, also, Josh & Keelan Deslich and Caleb & Karyssa Deslich. Barb is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Ron & Patty Hemmelgarn, Gary Hemmelgarn, Ed Hemmelgarn & Fiancé Robin, Larry Hemmelgarn & Marilyn, Mike & Ann Hemmelgarn, Alan & Rita Hemmelgarn, Karen & Steve Balster, Ann & Tim Schwieterman, Mary & Joe Cox, and Joan & John Hartings, and in-laws, Gerald Fullenkamp & Janet, Gene Figel, Tom & Donna Fullenkamp, David & Marita Fullenkamp, Steve & Carol Fullenkamp, Sue & Doug Bruns, and Joe Fullenkamp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Tiny and Ruby (Smith) Fullenkamp, and brother Bobby Hemmelgarn, and sisters-in-law Nancy Figel and Sandy Hemmelgarn.
Barb had a variety of hobbies, including playing card games, especially Euchre, rarely missing Wednesday and Sunday evening games, and Dominoes and Rummikub. She was also known for her molasses cookies and oatmeal cake, which were family favorites, and she was especially fond of homemade ice cream. Barb took pleasure and pride in her flower beds both at her house in the woods and the house on the lake. Barb loved to travel and satisfied 2 bucket list dreams, Paris and Australia, as well as visiting all 50 states.
A funeral service for Barb will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Saturday, June 17, with visitation in the rear of the church from 8:00 am to 9:30 am and Mass immediately after. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at Eagles in Minster.
