ROSSBURG - Hanover, Pennsvlania's Logan Schuchart led all 50 laps and picked up the largest prize in dirt track racing winning the Eldora Million on late Thursday night-early Friday morning at Eldora Speedway.
Schuchart started on the pole and beat Carson Macedo into turn one on the opening and was never seriously challenged throughout the 50 laps.
Schuchart, the grandson of the sprint car legend Bobby Allen, earned his fifth career win at Eldora , this one worth $1,002,023.
Californian's Carson Macedo and Brad Sweet swapped second-place several times throughout the event before Macedo won the battle with Sweet finishing in third-place. David Gravel and Rico Abreu completed the top five.
Brian Brown, Buddy Kofoid, Donny Schatz, Justin Peck and James McFadden completed the top 10.
The race was marred by a three-car crash following the mandatory red flag on lap 20. Top-10 contenders Aaron Reutzel, Kyle Larson and Spencer Bayston were all involved and finished for the night. Nobody was injured in the violent turn-two crash.
With the Eldora Million in the rearview mirror, the competitors will now turn their attention to tonight's $20,000 to-win Knight Before the Kings Royal and then Saturday's prestigious $175,000 to-win Kings Royal.
