Dennis Barrett
It is with great sympathy that the family and friends of Dennis Duane Barrett announce his passing from this earth. He is now pain free and celebrating in Heaven with Jesus, family and friends gone before him, and his favorite truck driving partner, his dog of 17 years, Mitzi.
Denny entered this world on May 9, 1958 to the late William D. Barrett and Myrt (Huff) Barrett. His earthly body fought a hard battle but retired for good on December 12, 2023. His wife of 26 years, Deb (Miller) Barrett was always by his side along with his favorite four-legged friends Eddie and Bailey.
Denny leaves the following legacy behind. He had 2 daughters: Dawn Schnell, Celina and Heather (Trey) Bragg, Van Wert. Grandchildren: Olivia (Caleb) Blankemeyer, Kyleigh (Zach) Sell, Jayden, Sheperd, and Lynnix Bragg as well as Kolton and Karlyn Schnell. Great Grandchildren: Waylon Sell and Conrad Blankemeyer. Sisters: Billie (Al) Fordeck and the late Nancy (Tom) Fisher. Sister-in-laws include: Vickie Burkheimer, her late husband Emerson and the late Donna (Kenny) Link. Brother-in-law: Ron (Kassi) Miller.
Both his Father-in law, Don, and his Mother-in-law, Eva (Thomas) Miller also preceded him in death. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Denny was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Celina Eagles and proudly represented the Eagle Riders for 10 years. You could often find him on his golf cart headed to the VFW to visit with friends. If he was not on some type of motorcycle or golf cart, he could be found hanging out by a campfire somewhere enjoying time with his family and friends. He also loved watching the Green Bay Packers games and he always enjoyed Minions with the grandkids. He worked for Moeller Trucking for 17 years as an over the road truck driver. He could tell you directions to anywhere without a GPS. He was the GPS.
During the last year of his life, he attended Abounding Grace Ministries in Celina, Ohio. He knew Jesus as his personal savior and was not ashamed to tell people and invite them to church. He was a friend to everyone and he had never met a stranger. Denny was blessed to take his wife on a bucket list trip to Yellowstone National Park. Along with friends, they were able to load the bikes and ride through some of the most beautiful parts of God's country. The highlight of this trip was a Bison encounter. They completed their trip with a visit to Sturgis, South Dakota.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina with Pastor Steve Bratcher officiating, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to the services at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Everheart Hospice for their kindness and support through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for monetary donations to be given to Everheart Hospice, 230 W. Main St., Coldwater, Ohio 45828.
